A young seminarian finds himself in an unusual situation when he is called upon to pray for the soul of a beautiful young woman who died in violent circumstances.

Based on a short story by Ukrainian writer Nikolai Gogol, Viy is an unusual film, a gothic fantasy considered to be the first horror film produced in Soviet Russia.

Titled as an adaptation of a Ukrainian folk tale to circumvent censorship, it was a huge success, perhaps because it met a pent-up demand for the genre, and remained in circulation on Soviet screens for several years.

The film, full of surprising images and practical special effects, mixes, especially in the final sequence, stop-motion, rear projection and characterisation special effects.
SHAMPOO PLANET
Peter Dandruff & Jeane Coiffeur

The word shampoo dates back to 1877, and its origin is believed to come from the Hindi word chhamna, which means to squeeze or knead.
During the early stages of designing the shampoo planet, the indigenous people heated soap in water with bicarbonate of soda and added herbs to give the planet its characteristic health and aroma.
Here, then, is the manifesto of a world that seeks to convey, through sound, the idiosyncrasies of a planet where the foam of everyday life overshadows oiliness.
The propagation of mechanical waves caused by the vibration of a body through a fluid or elastic medium is entirely the responsibility of Peter Dandruff and Jean Coiffeur.
