It was through these films that the world first fell in love with cinema and learned to appreciate it as an art. They have influenced each generation of filmmakers and continue to inspire audiences almost a century after they were made.

FILM FEST – Live Score Music Festival develops and expands the traditional format of the cine-concert, creating unique interdisciplinary meetings, screening films largely recognized by the public and simultaneously addressing author cinema, particularly silent cinema, giving, however, a focus on sound and music through the creative eye of several artists who, when accompanying the exhibition of these works live, create unique soundtracks.

Its main objective is to boost the public's relationship with moving images and music.

It also intends to exhibit film works of directors who sorted how to break out from the established techniques and presented works almost without dialogue - in many cases without any dialogue - and whose original soundtrack is played live.

The selection process of the films intends to highlight some works of recognized merit, but, essentially, to trigger in the audience an awareness of unknown or forgotten authors, through restored copies - some recently rediscovered in cinematographic archives.

FILM FEST also pays special attention to the important role played by women in the film industry, not forgetting works and directors of animation and cinema for younger audiences.
