Celebrating the centenary of Carlos Paredes' birth, we are screening one of the founding films of the New Portuguese Cinema movement, for which he composed the theme song of the same name, which would become one of the most emblematic compositions in his repertoire and in all of Portuguese cinema.

This expanded version is a performance that, removing the original sound from the film, places its images in dialogue with a new text read live and with Carlos Paredes' music transcribed for the harpsichord.

An ode to Paredes' iconic soundtrack.
